Dental Update

Remember this? Well, I wanted to update you all on KK's dental work. The first Monday of the new year I had class so Mr H. had to drive K's to the dentist for his spacer and crown. The spacer is put in place because he is still very young and the risk of his teeth moving or shifting is very high and if they shift around too much than the adult teeth do not have a place to go. So the spacer eliminates the shifting of his teeth. Once his tooth does start growing in that place than the spacer needs to be removed. Mr H. was told from the dentist that KK did a wonderful job when they were working on his teeth. Now KK is a proud new owner of "robot teeth" or at least that is what we call them at home.

Crown

We treat them just like his original teeth. He brushes and flosses every day because we want healthy teeth from now on!

KK's Funny's

Last week I went to my health clinic to get the 3rd, and last, Twinrix shot (against Hepatitis A & B). At the counter were free samples of things for the students, gum, tampons, shampoo/conditioner, and condoms. And if you know me I took some free samples and shoved them in my bag. Tonight I needed to empty my bag so I put me freebies on my bed and KK picked up the condom and asked, "Is this bubble gum!?" I told him to ask Mr H. It made me laugh. KK is so funny.

The other day, I was talking to KK and telling him that I really didn't like going to school and that I would rather spend the day with him. He said, "Mom, I would rather be at school and not spend time with you!" Well, I see where his priorities are!

Another funny story about KK from JM: Z said to KK...."come on K's we have to feed JEM" KK replied, "with OUR boobs?" Lol ha the funny things kids say!

1st Day of Preschool

Isn't my husband cute for posting that!? I've been so busy with school, as I write this, I still have a couple papers, a quiz to study for, 4 online assignments, and general studying to do before my classes this week. But I thought that I would take the time to let you all know that KK is in preschool and he loves it! It costs us money each month but we've been really wanting to do this so we have been more conscious about our spending. For instance, I haven't been to JoAnn Fabrics since before Christmas and THAT's saying something!

KK started his first day on January 11th. I wanted him to ride the bus because I thought he would like it....no, I was wrong. That whole morning he was crying and just so nervous. He was afraid that everyone would be mean and no one would be his friend. He was also worried that someone would bite him...because he remembers when he went to daycare in 2008 and there was a kid who used to bite a lot. The final straw was about the 3rd bite when he came home with this:

This is 4 days after...on Halloween. Looks like someone kissed him!

I told the Daycare that my lawyer was now involved and that they should be contacted soon because they were not providing a safe place for my child. They moved him into another class the next day. So I can see why KK was so nervous. We had about 3 crying fits where he just didn't want to go to school. It broke my heart. I knew that he would love it when he went there, but he was just so nervous.

This is trying to get him to smile

So I made him his favorite breakfast, and we shared french toast and orange juice

Because he was so nervous I decided I should drive him to school and walk him to his class. Once we were at the school, he was much happier. His teacher is very nice and accommodating, she gave me her email and told me to email whenever I needed. KK also has a friend from church in his class. He was so excited that he ran into the classroom with his friend and forgot all about me.

Because of my class schedule last week was his first time riding the school bus. this was him waiting for the school bus

He wanted a picture of him and his Momma

Just goofing off

My BIG boy! He will ALWAYS be my baby though...ALWAYS!

I am so proud of him!

Mrs. H's new toy

I'm sure most of you know by now, that I have been working on earning my Private Pilot License. I have wanted to for years, and I was finally blessed with the opportunity to learn to fly. I started taking lessons in August after learning most of my basics through an at-home instructional DVD course. It might surprise many of you to learn that the at-home course to teach yourself (the part we simply call ground school) is very informative and honestly prepared me for almost everything I encountered when I finally took the controls of the airplane. I also decided to take a formal flight ground school through my training airport just to make sure I do well on my FAA written exam. Well after a lot of practice and learning, I'm almost ready to take my tests. I need to log 5 1/2 more hours of flying time to meet the FAA's requirements to test. I'm trying to coordinate the completion of those flying hours with my last class of ground school so I can test on the next flyable day. This should be about 4 weeks away as long as the weather gives me a couple of Saturdays with mild weather. The first big thing I want to do with my ability to carry passengers, is to take Mrs. H. out on a date like she's never been on. I want to fly her to visit different cities and take her out to dinner in a way that she's never experienced. I know that she isn't into airplanes the way I am, but I want her to take part in the flying fun whenever she feels like it and I want to use my skills as a pilot to take her to new places and share new experiences with her.

To do this, she needed some of her own flight gear. So I special ordered her a new headset just for her.

It took a bit longer to get her the pink headset but I think it's perfect for her. Plus I got her the model that has an interface plug on it for her to hook up her Ipod or her audio books to listen to while we fly. I'm excited to take Mrs. H. on her first flying date. And of course I can't wait to take the kids up flying. I already have another headset on order for KK to use while he is riding in the airplane, so he can be a part of the fun too. I can't wait to see his face when he gets to sit in the co-pilot seat up front and help me fly the plane. We'll definitely post pictures of all of the new fun we get to have as a family while we fly.

KK and JEM

KK loves his cousin, JEM. He calls her his sister, it's so cute. He loves playing with her and trying to pick her up. He's going to be such a great big brother one of these days.

He wanted to be in the picture too

Giving love

I think she's almost had it

Interesting Date

Lots has been going on. More posts and pictures later. But for now I wanted to post about the interesting date Mr H. and I had last night. Well, the date itself was like any other. We had a nice time eating at Logan's Roadhouse. It was my first time eating there. The bread was delicious. I ordered a steak, salad, and mac n' cheese. It was great, but I wasn't hugely blown away. It was a tad expensive for just the two of us, but we had a very nice time on a date, it had been a while since we had gone out together. After eating, we went home and went to bed...yes, went to bed! It was only 10:30pm and although we could have...hehum...you know, enjoyed each other, we didn't because of what happened earlier and this is why I said our date was interesting. Just as an FYI, this may be too much information for some of you so you're more than welcome to just skip over it and just know that we had a great date.

No really, it's kinda personal and lots of information about myself that you may not want to know!

Alright, don't say I didn't warn you!

February of 2008 I had an IUD placed. I spotted and bled for the first 6 or so months but then no periods, no bleeding, no spotting since...until the end of December. I bled pretty heavy and for 10 days. It was weird because I haven't had a period in almost 4 years and even more weird because I have NEVER bled for that long even before the IUD was placed. But I didn't think too much of it, until the beginning of this week when I started bleeding again. In the last 20 days I have been bleeding for 15! Some days are heavier than others. I went to my clinic at the University to talk to them about it because my insurance is through my school. Since I have an IUD, they didn't even check me out [liability reasons, maybe!?]. All the nurse told me is that I should get to a GYN ASAP, I told her that I didn't have one that accepted my insurance and she told me that I needed to get to the hospital. She was worried about a possible puncture in my uterus from the IUD. Driving home I called Mr H. to tell him the news and I started crying because I was scared and I didn't want another hospital bill. I was so confused, I didn't know what to do. Mr H. was very confident and told me that we needed to go to the hospital just to get everything checked out.

Once at the hospital, they took me right back in a room. I felt dumb, and that maybe I shouldn't have come, like I was making something out of nothing. But the bleeding is very unusual and my stomach has been hurting for the last couple of days. So they had me pee in a cup and told me that I wasn't pregnant (duh!) and I also had to have a pelvic exam (ehhh!). The PA-C who did it tried very hard to be gentle [hard and gentle?...sounds conflicting, huh!?]. He moved slowly and talked me through it. It's kinda uncomfortable and awkward having someone else besides my husband down there...but I lived. He also said that I was the best pelvic he's done this week...and I didn't know how to respond to that!

After the pelvic and bimanual exam the doctor came into the room and told me that she does not think the IUD has punctured my uterus, since I have no fever, chills, extreme pain, etc. What the doctor thinks, is that the IDU has lost it's effectiveness and that is why I am menstruating. And if the IUD has lost it's effectiveness than it probably has lost it's ability to prevent pregnancy[and this is why no hanky panky]. So she highly recommended that the IUD be taken out. We were a little surprised because the IUD should be good for another year.

After our wonderful date last night, we were laying in bed, it hit me, I wonder if Heavenly Father has another plan for us. I know that in OUR timeline we can not possibly have a baby...with us both going through school, Mr H. working, no insurance...in OUR timeline we CANNOT have a baby. But now that the IUD will be taken out what does HEAVENLY FATHER'S timeline look like? I'm really not sure...I guess we will just have to wait and find out.

KK-isms

The other day we were driving and Caleb asked when he was going to start school. I told him that he would in August, but hopefully he'll start the preschool program soon. His reply was, "Well, I guess I better learn to stop picking my nose than!"

He's a funny boy, I know that he has said more funny things but I just can't remember anymore.
